Nicotine Warning & Health Disclaimer
WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.
General Health Warning
Urban Smoke TX sells vaping products, e-liquids, and electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) that contain nicotine. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance derived from tobacco. Use of these products carries health risks, and you should be fully informed before using them.
FDA Required Warning
In accordance with 21 CFR § 1143.3, all nicotine-containing products sold by Urban Smoke TX display the following warning on packaging, advertising, and product listings:
“WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.”
For products made from tobacco that do not contain nicotine, the warning may state:
“This product is made from tobacco.”
Not a Smoking Cessation Device
Unless a specific product has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a smoking cessation aid, our products are not intended or marketed to help you quit smoking. If you are trying to quit smoking, consult a healthcare professional about FDA-approved cessation methods, including nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), prescription medications, and counseling.
Who Should NOT Use Vaping Products
You should NOT use vaping products if you:
- Are under 21 years of age
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or a history of stroke
- Have diabetes
- Have asthma, COPD, or other respiratory conditions
- Are sensitive or allergic to nicotine, propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), or flavorings
- Are taking medications that may interact with nicotine
Consult Your Healthcare Provider
Before using any vaping product, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions or are taking medications, consult your physician or healthcare provider. This is particularly important if you have:
- Cardiovascular conditions
- Respiratory conditions
- Seizure disorders (nicotine overdose can trigger seizures)
- Mental health conditions
- A history of substance abuse or addiction
Potential Health Risks of Vaping
While vaping is generally considered less harmful than smoking combustible cigarettes, it is not risk-free. Potential health risks include:
- Nicotine addiction and dependence
- Increased heart rate and blood pressure
- Respiratory irritation
- Potential lung injury (EVALI — associated primarily with illicit THC cartridges, not legal nicotine products)
- Exposure to chemicals and metals in vapor
- Unknown long-term health effects (vaping is a relatively new phenomenon, and long-term studies are ongoing)
Safe Use Guidelines
To minimize risks when using vaping products:
- Start Low: If you are new to vaping, start with a lower nicotine strength and device power.
- Stay Hydrated: Propylene glycol (PG) can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of water.
- Monitor Nicotine Intake: Be aware of how much nicotine you are consuming. Symptoms of nicotine overdose include nausea, dizziness, headache, rapid heartbeat, and sweating. If you experience these symptoms, stop using immediately and seek medical attention if severe.
- Use the Right Device: Only use coils, tanks, and batteries that are compatible with your device. Do not mix and match incompatible components.
- Follow Manufacturer Instructions: Read and follow all user manuals and safety guidelines provided with your device.
- Store Safely: Keep e-liquids and devices away from children and pets. Nicotine is toxic if ingested or absorbed through the skin. In case of accidental ingestion, contact Poison Control immediately: 1-800-222-1222.
- Battery Safety: Use only the charger provided by the manufacturer. Do not leave batteries charging unattended. Do not carry loose batteries in pockets with metal objects (keys, coins). Dispose of damaged batteries properly.
- Avoid DIY Modifications: Do not modify your device, build coils beyond your skill level, or use unregulated mechanical mods unless you are an experienced user with thorough knowledge of Ohm’s Law and battery safety.
E-Liquid Safety
- E-liquids contain nicotine, which is toxic. Keep all e-liquids out of reach of children and pets.
- If e-liquid contacts your skin, wash immediately with soap and water.
- If e-liquid is ingested, call Poison Control immediately: 1-800-222-1222 or seek emergency medical attention.
- Do not drink e-liquid or use it for any purpose other than vaping in an appropriate device.
- Store e-liquids in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Pregnancy & Reproductive Health
Nicotine is known to cause birth defects and reproductive harm. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding mothers should not use nicotine products. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov regarding California Proposition 65 warnings.
